If you've ever dreamed of rolling a joint on a mountaintop, this one's for you. From makeshift rolling trays to dodging the wind, Chris mastered it all—grinder in hand. Or should I say, grinder is hands. You’ll only get the joke if you keep reading.
1. Hike to one of the highest peaks in the state
To be the highest you must climb to the highest. Also, meet Bee The Mountain Dog.
2. Find a rolling tray
Anything can be a rolling tray if you use your imagination! All you need is a flat surface for rolling your weed. Chris found a piece of trash someone left behind and used that. As they say: reduce, reuse, rolling tray.
🌬️ Make sure you find appropriate shelter from the wind before rolling your joint 🌬️
The last thing you want is your flower blowing away in the wind! Chris was fortunate and found a natural wind breaker made of boulders to roll his joint behind. You can look for big tree stumps, small alcoves, or have a friend act as a wind breaker.
3. Break up your weed
Did you know that the very first weed grinder was human hands? It’s true. Sure, it takes longer, but if you’re packing light for your hike (or you forget your grinder), you can still successfully roll a joint. You can also use your knees as a somewhat sturdy table to place your rolling tray on.
4. Fill your rolling paper
“I find that extra wide 1.5 size rolling papers (like I used here) are much more forgiving for rolling joints in challenging environments. The extra paper makes the joint burn more evenly and gives me a chance to correct a less than perfect start.”
💨 Chris is usually smoking 💨
Sun grown flower from The Honeybee Collective, a sustainable cannabis brand that sources the highest quality flower with the lowest environmental impact.
5. Twist up your rolling papers
Use the filter as the guide to wrap your rolling papers around. Slow and steady gets stoned.
6. Lick it
Lick the sticky part of the rolling papers to seal your freshly rolled joint. If you don’t like licking rolling papers, you can get a bit of water on your pointer or pinky finger and use that instead.
7. Light up and enjoy
Your joint is rolled, now all that’s left to do is enjoy the view! And if you follow this simple joint rolling tutorial, you can be the highest person in Colorado.
